Patrick Manning, Founder and CEO
“As a young adult searching for purpose in life, I founded Joyful Occasions after an extended conversation with my good friend and Vice President Rafin Khan. We both felt the need to live beyond self and improve the city that raised us.”
We had done previous volunteer work and felt that there was an uptight, serious energy that surrounded this space. We wanted to change that, by hosting fun events, one might even call them Joyful Occasions.
The same people at these events, we would invite even if it was completely free. It’s supposed to be great vibes, people chillin’, having a blast. Compared to just going out and drinking per say, it fosters much more of a communal vibe. With that being said, if you wanna have a drink, be my guest. I can’t emphasize this enough; it’s supposed to be fun!!!
So then you might ask what’s in it for me/us? If all the money is getting donated to charity, why are you all doing this? Purpose in life! That’s a pretty cool thing! Also, the ability to empower both myself and my friends, to show the world what I know we’re capable of. No company would hire me as a 24 year old to be a CEO, but now I have one of the fancy three letter job titles. On top of that, a bunch of my closest friends now have official titles too, that’s awesome to be able to say.
